Taylor & Francis uses the Journal Article Tag Suite (JATS) from NISO for production, archiving, and distribution of journal articles. Documentation of our tagging instructions and validation rules are available at the links below.

Archive Formats

The XML formats that were used for production and archiving of journal articles prior to JATS are maintained to support archived content that still uses these formats. Documentation of these formats are available at the links below. The DTD and XML Schema files are also hosted here.

• TF JATS Customized version of JATS 1.0
  used from about 2013 until 2020
• TFJA Proprietary DTD
  used from about 2004 until 2013
