Running Titles

Text that appears as a running header or running footer can be captured in the following metadata locations. Semantic names have been given to each field (instead of names like right running head) to make it easier to change styles when needed.

Author names

Author names (usually abbreviated) used in a running title should be tagged using <alt-title alt-title-type="running-authors"> in <title-group>. For example:

<alt-title alt-title-type="running-authors">E. Konecka <italic>et al.</italic></alt-title>

Article title

An article title (usually abbreviated) used in a running title should be tagged using <alt-title alt-title-type="running-title"> in <title-group>. For example:

<alt-title alt-title-type="running-title">Biocontrol Science and Technology</alt-title>

Journal title

A journal title (usually abbreviated) used in a running title should be tagged using <abbrev-journal-title abbrev-type="running-title"> in <journal-title-group>. For example:

<abbrev-journal-title abbrev-type="running-title">Hum. Ecol. Risk Assess.</abbrev-journal-title>
