Description
This optional attribute indicates the primary language of the article text. For Taylor & Francis content, if this attribute is not specified the language of the text may be assumed to be English.
This attribute must hold an official
ISO 639 language code, in lower-case letters such as "en" for English and "pl" for Polish. For languages that have two-letter and three-letter codes, the two-letter code defined in
ISO 639-1 should be used (as recommended by
RFC 5646). For the full list of codes see

This attribute is not required. It holds a single name token (initial character must be a letter, '_' or ':', and remaining characters must be letters or digits or '_', ':', '-', or '.').
