coverdate Attribute Description .email comment.
Documentation updated in version 1.9 and 1.9.1.
Description
This optional attribute contains the Cover Date of the journal issue in which this article was published. It need not be an actual date, and can be any string that identifies the issue in sequence apart from the volume and issue numbers. For example "Fall-Winter 2010". If the journal issue has a cover date then it must be inserted here in the delivered XML and must be consistent across all articles within an issue.
The cover date should also be converted to an actual date in the printpubdate attribute. The year part of the cover date should be copied into yearofpub. Please see "Publication Dates in Online Files".
