Headers

An article XML header contains the tagged metadata for an article, such as the article title, author information, journal and issue information, and reference list. The full text of the article is not included. XML headers are typically used for retrodigitisation projects where the full text is not captured within the XML <body> element and is available only in the PDF file.

An XML header does not contain any specific or unique tagging that sets it apart from a standard full-text article XML, however, it is important that the <body> element is not present in XML header files.
